We had designed a Saas model for companies, but internally we had to keep our drivers and delivery team safe. We placed technology at their hands, an app that not only was going to become their favourite work tool but also the gateway for their career path.
Much more than a route planner and a to-do list

Drivers play a key role in the logistics universe, research showed us that the way they perceived their job is map-based, that’s why the map is right at it’s core, but this is no ordinary map, this is a map meant for delivery in the LATAM context. We knew that there are security issues in several neighborhoods and cities, also we knew that the time of day in which the drivers go through certain areas could help reduce the risk dramatically, so the app is integrated with a database of reports showing dangerous areas. We show drivers their progress on each order, but also we help them understand the recommended order in which to load their vehicles, and finally this tool allows direct communication to the support team in-house, meaning the drivers had a direct-and-safe line connecting to the clients and police offices.

Roles and teamwork

Our research showed that drivers where the ‘Silent leaders’ of each service, they knew exactly were they were going, what they are supposed to do there and the products that they are moving with them. So we took this in-person behaviour and gave it a legitimate tool to do so, drivers are the ones that assign tasks to each member of their crew, they select who unloads and delivers once reached the locations, in several places we saw how they found a middle ground and divided the packages between their crew and they will complete the delivery carrying the packages themselves, this was a very standard behaviour in areas with dense traffic or very narrow streets. Our app allows connecting between crewmembers, so that the driver could assign specific tasks to each member and then keep track that they are fulfilling the orders as expected and also, that they are safe while doing so. Each team member have their own app, they only see their tasks, and can measure their progress.

We are giving excellent people the tool that will allow them to do their job in the best possible way, now they can focus on the excellence of their tasks instead of wasting unnecesary efforts on tasks that technology coul solve.

The App’s core is on the map, this is the place where drivers find thee expected routes, pick-up and delivery spots, progress and the capability of creating alerts for the in-house team.

Each person in the service has a role, tasks and goals

One of Colombia’s most backed start up is aiming to take the next step in the logistics industry. We created and launched the three products in Liftit’s SaaS portfolio that helped the acquisition of some of the continent’s biggest clients, including the company expanding to Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and Brasil.

The App’s core is on the map, this is the place where drivers find thee expected routes, pick-up and delivery spots, progress and the capability of creating alerts for the in-house team.
